本課程作為一個引導大學部學生進入都市研究場域的基礎課程，將以都市化與都市性為核心主題，藉由古典至當代重要都市社會理論的引介，使學生理解都市問題的發展沿革與重要議題，並學習如何觀察我們的台灣的城鄉問題，並以台中市為田野場域，進行未來都市治理或地方發展的社會學想像。1.利用社會學知識探索都市化與都市性2.都市空間生產的文化與社會分析3.理解台灣都市化議題與相關研究4.未來都市設計與城鄉治理的反思This course is designed as a basic course to guide undergraduate students into the field of urban studies with the exploration of two main issues: urbanization and urbanism. Through the introduction of important urban social theories from classical to contemporary, it will enable students to understand the importance urban issues of urban development, and learn how to observe our urban and rural issues in Taiwan, especially with the case of Taichung City. Therefore, this course will inspire students to reflect future urban governance or local development with the sociological imagination.
