本課程的主要教育目標是加深對區域/城市分析以及區域/城市環境的形式以及形成該環境的力量的理解。 “工作坊案例研究”的目的是幫助您更好地理解區域/城市環境和城市/城鎮/村莊的設計過程，以及城市設計的角色理論如何影響設計過程，從而進而可以作為評估城市設計的基礎。
最重要的是，本課程將側重於通過 "研究+分析" 以及 "設計過程" 進一步發展您解決城市設計問題的能力。由於之前我們對建築設計的關鍵階段 "研究/分析" 沒有給予足夠的重視，因此我們試圖向您展示清晰、簡潔、準確的 "研究/分析" 的需求。這是我們應該努力在開發過程中理性地開發 "研究+分析" 技能的目標之一，這將有助於改善此問題。
1.加深對區域/城市分析以及區域/城市環境的形式以及形成該環境的力量的理解2.理解區域/城市環境和城市/城鎮/村莊的設計過程，以及城市設計的角色理論如何影響設計過程3.解決城市設計問題的能力TThe primary educational objective of the course is to develop an understanding of regional/urban analyses and the form of the regional/urban environment and the forces that shape that environment. The purpose of “A Workshop Case Study(WCS) project” is to help you to better understand the design process has in the making of the regional/urban setting and city/town/village and correspondingly how the role theory of community design affects the design process that then can be a basis for evaluating the community design with neighborhood scale. Furthermore, the course will focus on further developing your abilities to solve community design problems through the RESEARCH +ANALYSIS as well as THE DESIGN PROCESS. As placing enough importance on research/analysis as a critical stage of architectural design, this course attempts to impress upon you the need for clear, concise, accurate research/analysis.
The WCS project may encompass the following goals:
‧ Learn about a community’s social and urban issues
‧ Determine the role of its community planning
‧ Understand how your theme differs from Taiwan and other countries
‧ Learn about Architecture integrated with environmental issues
‧ Applications of principles and determinants of spatial composition to the community
‧ Most importantly focusing on environmental issues, such as, sustainability, compact city, community planning, and green ecological planning, biophilic/healthy/livable communities, etc
‧ Learn about Analysis Process: develop the ability to employ appropriate representational media, to convey essential formal elements at each stage of the research analysis or presentation process
‧ Learn about Critical Thinking: develop the ability to make a comprehensive analysis and evaluation of a building, a building complex, or other community space
‧ Learn about Documentation/Organization: further develop the ability to employ basic methods of data collection and analysis to inform all aspects of the workshop case study.
