本課程培養學生下列知識：
此課程的目的主要在於幫助學生閱讀西方英美文學作品，使同學增進閱讀能力，字彙能力，文化背景的瞭解，使同學快速提升英文實力。

The goal of the course, Introduction to Literature, is to familiarize students with basic genres such as poetry, drama (tragedy, comedy, history plays), novels, short stories, prose, and criticism. Students not only have to pay much attention to structures of each genre but also have to analyze the infrastructure of literary works, such as words, and grammars.
