| 本課程培養學生下列知識： |

本課程指導學生如何將資料(data)匯整成資訊(information)進而將之吸收內化成知識(knowledge)。透過研習教材，從閱讀中建立日常常用的語彙，為說、寫等相關課程奠立基礎1.學習如何將資料，轉化成資訊，內化成知識2.系統性的擴展字彙3.了解不同閱讀策略的差異與應用時機4.了解各種不同的筆記系統，如康乃爾大學筆記法5.養成閱讀為樂的終身學習The course aims at building a solid and useful vocabulary through reading. Different levels of reading as well as various skills of reading will be introduced by the use of materials from articles of different fields. Its ultimate aim is to encourage the students to embrace reading as a lifetime habit.
