| 本課程培養學生下列知識： |
|
統計是一門分析資料的工具學科，分為描述統計與推論統計兩類。描述統計以討論集中量數、變異量數、與關係量數三種統計量數為主，推論統計則包括母數及無母數各類假設考驗與估計。使學生能熟悉處理資料時的步驟，分辨各種統計方法的適用時機，對於分析結果能正確解釋其意義，以培養科學態度與邏輯思考能力。本階段的社會統計以描述統計為主要內容，強調初等統計的基本概念，與較常使用的精簡各類資料的統計方法。1.熟悉統計圖表的製作2.瞭解平均數、中數、眾數等集中量數的計算及其特性3.瞭解變異數、標準差、四分間距、四分差等變異量數的計算及其特性4.瞭解常態分配與標準分數的原理及應用5.熟悉散佈圖的製作及相關係數的計算，暸解關係的涵義Statistics is a subject about data analysis. It is divided into two areas: descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. Descriptive statistics is mainly concerned with three kinds of statistical measures, namely measures of central tendency, measures of variability, and measures of relationships. Inferential statistics includes different kinds of hypothesis testing and estimation for parameters and nonparameters. Through the systemic learning materials, students should be familiar with the process of data analysis, and able to explain the meaning of the results correctly. The main content of this course focuses on descriptive statistics, emphasizing the basic concepts of statistics, and statistical methods often used in simplifying different kinds of data. The objectives of this course are:
1. Being familiar with construction of statistical tables and graphs.
2. Understanding the compute of mean, median, and mode, as well as their features.
3. Understanding the compute of variance, standard deviation, interquartile range, and quartile deviation, as well as their features.
4. Understanding the principles and applications of normal distributions and standard scores.
5. Being familiar with construction of scatterplots and compute of correlation coefficients, as well as understanding the meaning of relationships.
