課程目標 本課程將帶領學生一窺微生物學之殿堂。首先就微生物的基本認識做一般性的介紹,再討論個別菌體,然後再對微生物之利用加以闡述。 Objectives This course provides students a general understanding on microbiology. Several topics will be discussed, such as an introduction of microbiology, bacteria, fungi and virus. In addition, various applications of microbials will also be covered.

教學內容 本課程以基礎微生物學為主旨。授課內容包括:基本背景資訊(微生物學簡史、微生物之化學、基本微生物實驗技術、基礎遺傳學概念),原核生物與真核生物之分類學,病毒等之分類學,微生物與疾病傳染,基礎免疫學,致病菌(細菌、真菌、病毒等)等主題。課程將提供學生對微生物學通盤性與架構性之了解。 Syllabus This course is focused on basic microbiology. Course contents encompasses the following subjects:basic background information(history highlights, chemistry of microbiology, basic laboratory techniques, basic concepts in genetics), characterizing and classifying prokaryotes, eukaryotes and viruses etc., microorganisms and infectious diseases, basic immunology, pathogens (bacteria, fungi, viruses etc.). Students will be supplied with a general and structural basic understanding about microbiology.
