| 課程目標 |
建築與都市設計（一）（二）為建築與都市設計必修之核心課程，教學的目的在於（一）研究建築案例中思想與實踐間之密切關係，期使學生學到建築方案之思想與設計手法，並將之運用於建築設計習作中；（二）培養及加強學生掌握大尺度的都市發展或更新計劃案的分析、規劃及設計等能力。 |
Objectives |
The architectural design and urban design （I）（II） are the core component of the MAUD curriculum. The aims of these courses are（A）to analyze and study of the theory and practice of the selected project in the world. Using these theories to develop new ideas in architectural design projects,（B）to further develop and enhance the students’ analytical and design ability for handling real-life large scale development, renewal or re-development projects. |

| 教學內容 |
1.建築設計：建築空間(Space)與形式(Form) 意涵上的轉換與操作 ；生活體驗(Experience)與建築機能(Function) 關係間之銜接與演練 ；建築涵構(Context)與環境空間意義(Sense of Space)之探討與實踐；建築設計的正確表現方法與實質意義----圖繪工夫與模型製作；各建築大師之思想與建築實例分析。
2.都市設計：計畫案將採二階段進行，第一階段為基礎資料調查及分析（全體學生），第二階段規劃及設計（分組）。學生除了學習都市設計相關的基本技能外，同時，透過實際大尺度計畫案的操作，訂定都市設計之主要計畫與建築物、公共設施與街景之設計規範,供相關決策者參考。習作對象將以台中縣市境內的相關基地為主。 |
Syllabus |
A. Architectural design: Course begins with design process, space and space relationships, character of design, and form; development of sketch presentation techniques. The second semester starts to learn the architectural forms and their means of generation; a broad scope and nonrestrictive (though directed) class covering aspects of form generation from human to climatic conservations, influences of history, research, and materials of construction related to architectural design; encouragement of student experimentation and creativity. Particular contents depending on the selected Master architect by each student
B. Urban design: Students learn about basic urban skills working in team and individuals. In additions, work progresses to large scale, real-life development projects involving in-depth investigation and the development of three-dimensional built form designed up to professional standards. The exercise urban design studio will be a group project studying selected urban areas in Taichung city or country. |
