Panorama是一本全方位訓練「閱讀技巧」與「字彙運用」的教材。銜接教材People, Places, and Things的程度與編排理念,更進一步培養學生閱讀學術類文章的能力。 ★可有效訓練國三與高中以上學生的閱讀能力與字彙程度,為英文科學測做準備。亦是全民英檢中級以上,閱讀測驗準備用書。 ★全書共8單元,每單元依主題提供3篇相關文章,透過主題人物故事、進而探討相關地點、事物或觀念,漸進的鋪陳使學生對主題擁有深入了解,與廣闊的視野。 ★文章主題涵括:文化、藝術、建築、人類學、歷史、科技等,題材多元而有趣,例如:美國好萊塢與印度寶萊塢電影工業、美國黑人音樂史、世界圖騰柱文化、蘋果電腦創立者、地球最甜美的地方:美國賓州赫爾希鎮(Hershey)、美國著名幫派老大與聯邦調查局、準新娘減肥訓練營、瑜珈研究。 ★每冊皆以Essential Reading Skills起始,透過一篇文章指導學生讀前預測與判斷技巧、文章瀏覽需注意的內容重點、判斷主旨、推論文意、字意猜測等。 ★單元內每篇文章皆有讀前讀後練習,文前搭配圖照、問答題與字彙學習,指導學生讀前判斷技巧。文後則針對主旨、細節內容、文意推論三部分提供閱讀測驗。 ★單元末以「Vocabulary Review」做字彙延伸學習,包括:一字多義單字運用、文意字彙、詞類變化等。同時針對單元主題編寫問答題,提供口語表達的訓練,引導學生結合自身經驗深入探討。另外,還有寫作或單元文章摘要練習,幫助學生確實運用所學字彙。 ★推薦為Totally True 3與People, Places, and Things 3 的銜接教材。 ★可有效訓練高中以上學生的閱讀能力,累積字彙程度,為英文科學測做準備。 ★教材還有考題光碟(Exam View Test Generator CD-ROM),供教師測驗學生使用 |
Syllabus |
The book combines high interest reading passages from the content areas with a strong vocabulary strand and extensive reading skills practice to prepare students for the challenges of academic reading. Each of the eight main units consists of three chapters, each chapter has a thematically-linked reading passage. The first passage is about a person, the second about a related place, and the third about a related concept or event. The book begins with an introductory unit, Essential Reading Skills, that presents and practices the core reading skills needed for academic success. |
