課程目標 本課程旨在教授包括人口、經濟、土地使用、公共設施、都市交通等方面的預測及分析方法，期能使學生了解及熟習都市及區域發展預測的基本分析理論與模式、並能加以實際應用。 Objectives This course aims at teaching students about some predictive models which are quantitative and qualitative analysis models about neighborhoods, cities, and regions. They include: sampling, comparative analysis techniques, economic base analysis, population projections and decision-making techniques. To let the student understand the city and region development theories and analytical approaches. Further more, can use the secondary data to predict the future development.

成績評量方式 期中考佔20%，期末考佔20%，平時小考或作業40%，課堂表現與學習態度20%。。學期中課堂不定期抽考及抽點，作為課堂表現與學習態度之參考依據。 Grading Class Test 30% Class Participation 10% Midterm Exam. 30% Term Paper 30%

教學內容 在規劃實務上不論是在區域發展或都市規劃或交通分析…等方面，常需針對未來的趨勢預測或是某些問題發生原因的探討等進行各項分析工作。本課程主要在介紹一般常見的計量方法與模式，其主旨在教導學生得以利用相關單位的統計資料或自行進行資料調查，再應用課堂上習得的各種分析方法，了解一個地方，如鄰里、都市、區域或國家，並進而據以進行相關規劃工作。課程主要內容涵蓋了次級資料的描述性分析、人口研究、經濟活動的探討、計畫評估與迴歸分析等。本課程需要之背景知識為基本數學、統計、經濟與套裝電腦，並特別著重所教授方法的實際操作與應用。 Syllabus A course on quantitative and qualitative analysis of neighborhoods, cities, and regions. Focus is on data from various regions of Taiwan, but tools are applicable throughout the world. They include: sampling, comparative analysis techniques, economic base analysis, population projections and decision-making techniques.
