Objectives |
Day program: This course is required for all sophomores who are enrolled in the four-year day program and students who are enrolled in the two-year day program. It is a general English course that aims to further enhance students’ communication competence and to strengthen their reading skills as well as their understanding in terms of the writing process. Evening program: This one-semester course is required for all sophomore students who are enrolled in the four-year evening program. The purpose of this course is to further enhance their communication competence. The students will also learn “how to learn English effectively,” which will become a solid foundation for their life-long learning. |

教學內容 |
本課程主要是營造一個無威脅性的英語學習環境,讓學生能夠運用原有的英語基礎在課堂上更積極的參與,繼續加強聽、說、讀、寫各項能力。在閱讀的部分,訓練學生瀏覽與略讀的技能,並輔以簡易的故事讀本,來落實其閱讀能力的增進。

Syllabus |
The general goals of this course are to provide an atmosphere that will increase students’ participation in a non-threatening environment and to encourage students to apply the knowledge of English language they’ve required. In the reading component, students will be taught specific skills such as scanning, skimming and guessing meaning from the context. Then students are expected to apply these reading skills through the use of simplified readers and to move toward to overall comprehension.
