課程目標 本課程是日間部四技大一學生的兩學期必修課程。此共同英文課程的具體目標為提升學生各項語文技能:一、聽:能理解日常生活裡人際溝通之英語,並做適當之回應。二、說:能與同儕、友人或教師以英語做真實而有意義的溝通。三、讀:能善加運用英文閱讀策略,了解一般文章的內容大意。四、寫:能以英文語句、段落及文章,清楚而完整地表達意見。 Objectives This two-semester course is required for all freshmen who are enrolled in the four-year day program. It is a general English course that aims to enhance the main skills in English language learning as follows:Listening: To be able to understand daily conversational English and to respond properly.Speaking: To be able to communicate with classmates, friends, and teachers in English in a natural and meaningful fashion.Reading: To be able to apply various reading strategies in understanding the content of general articles.Writing: To be able to clearly express opinions with various phrases, paragraphs, and articles.

教學內容 本課程以課本:English in Action 3為主。每次上課擬採小組討論方式探討課本單元內容,練習會話,文法運用。期中考為課堂考試以及繳交報告方式進行,期末考由外語中心統一進行會考。平均每兩週會舉行平時小考,除此之外,同學另需於規定時間登入全民英檢網路測驗平台(http://163.17.24.86/english/index.aspx)完成測驗,登入的紀錄將列為部份平時小考成績。為了鼓勵同學多加利用外語中心的資源自學,同學必需到外語中心登入老師指定的網路自學平台(Live ABC全民英檢網、E-Touch線上學習平台)閱讀,也歡迎同學多加使用語言中心購置的其他自學平台,期末老師會將同學參加自學或是導航的紀錄列入學期成績的百分之十五。

Syllabus This course is mainly based on the text book: English in Action 3. The goal is to help the students improve their four basic skills of learning English, including listening, talking, writing, and reading. Participation in group discussions in class is required. The regular tests will be held every two weeks. Students are encouraged not only to get familiar with but also to take good use of the self-learning platforms provided by the Language Center. They are asked to log-in the GEPT platform (http://163.17.24.86/english/index.aspx) and take part of the regular tests. In addition, they are asked to use two self-learning platform: Live ABC and E-Touch. Other records of self-learning will also be considered. On Nov. 7, students have to attend the mid-term exam and hand in the mid-term assignments. On Jan. 10, students have to attend the final exam held by the Language Center.
