Objectives |
To sum up, this course is about social work practice theories, which try to explain, describe or justify what social workers do. Each theory explains how we have applied the basic principles of the theory in social work practice theory. Many such theories have connections with wider social and psychological theories. Each approach therefore contains some account of wider ideas in a section entitled wider theoretical perspectives. Therefore, the purposes of this course are to review social work practice theories, to offer an assessment and arrive at an understanding of them and their value in modern social work practice. It is review, not an attempt at constructing a new theory. |
