Objectives |
This class will examine the fundamentals of movie structure and its narrative components: story, character, action, dialogue. The student will do a minimum of sixteen screenwriting exercises designed to develop skills in each of these components.
Goals: by the end of the course, students should be able to:
1. Write scenes in correct and standard format
2. Write scenes with narrative economy and dramatic emphasis
3. Write scenes which emphasize action and movement
4. Write scenes with effective dialogue
5. Use the classic three-part structure to outline and develop scenes and acts |
