閱讀美國兒童文學暢銷作家凱特．狄克米勒（Kate DiCamillor）的“Because of Winn-Dixie”。該著作於二OO一年獲得美國紐伯瑞兒童文學獎殊榮（Newberry Honor），並改編成同名溫馨電影（中譯為：“都是汪汪惹的禍”）。本課程旨在提供非外語系學生欣賞英文兒童文學的機會，增強閱讀技巧和語感，培養學生對英文文學的興趣。並從簡單、優美、流暢的文字中，自然而然地學習英文的精髓及日常生活用語。 |
Objectives |
This course provides an opportunity for non-AFL students to embrace Children’s English literature. This semester students will appreciate Kate DiCamillo’s best-selling novel “Because of Winn-Dixie,” which was awarded Newberry Honor in 2001 and filmed soon later. In addition to reading the novel, students will have the opportunity to compare the differences between the written and movie versions. Reading novels can develop students’ interests in language and enrich their lives. Hopefully, from this course can students improve their reading comprehension skills and learn everyday English in a natural way. |
