課程目標 日間部:本課程是日間部四技大二學生及二技學生的必修課程。此共同英文課程旨在進一步提升學生之溝通能力,並加強其閱讀能力及寫作概念。
進修部:本課程是進修部四技大二學生的一學期必修課程。此課程旨在進一步強化學生之英語溝通能力。同時,學生也能學到「如何有效的學習英文」,為日後之終身學習,奠基紮根。
Objectives Day program: This course is required for all sophomores who are enrolled in the four-year day program and students who are enrolled in the two-year day program. It is a general English course that aims to further enhance students’ communication competence and to strengthen their reading skills as well as their understanding in terms of the writing process.
Evening program: This one-semester course is required for all sophomore students who are enrolled in the four-year evening program. The purpose of this course is to further enhance their communication competence. The students will also learn “how to learn English effectively,” which will become a solid foundation for their life-long learning.

教學內容 本課程的教學內容選擇較貼近學生真實生活裏可能使用英語的情境或較有趣的主題引發學習動機。除了教科書外,教師亦自行設計能增進同學口說機會的講義及活動。課堂主要採用溝通式教學法,尤其利用小組分工完成一項活動(例如解決問題、訊息交換等)之教學設計以期自然循序提昇學生溝通能力。

Unit 3: Do it before you’re 30!
Unit 5: Where’s the party?
Unit 7: There are too many stores!
Unit 8: I like guys who are creative.

Syllabus Topics related to learners' real-life situations or interesting themes are chosen for this course. In addition to the textbook, the instructor also designs handouts and activities which help enhance learners' speaking skill. Communicative approach is adopted in class. Collaboration through activities, such as problem-solving tasks, information gap, etc., will be emphasized in order to promote learners' communicative competence in a natural and steady manner.
