課程目標 從文化的起源談起，針對社會制度、政治制度、宗教信仰、思想風俗、經濟型態、文風藝術等重要文化面像，依時代的先後進行各主題的論述，讓學生能夠了解中國文化的一些特質，並且適度地藉著不同時代的比較來說明文化的演變，以及中國文化對於現代人的影響。 Objectives From the origin of the culture, we discuss the topics by the order of the epoch in the right of the important aspect (ex: social system. the politic system. religion belief. economic type…) . Let students understand some characters of the Chinese culture

教學內容 一、課程綱要
中國文化的母體是多元並蓄的社會，歷史則又是中國文化的反映。本課程講授中國五千年歷史，分為四個時期。古典時期，包括中國文化的起源，古典「國家」的形成以及帝制王朝的興起，亦即中國文化的原型。中古時期，西元第三世紀中原天下秩序發生極大地變動，外來民族滲入中國的社會，這些民族文化使中國文化原型的風貌更加多元。近世時期，市民生活活潑，政治上由於科舉和士大夫階級的定型，中國文化轉型為新的傳統。近現代時期，由於西方文化的衝擊，中國社會歷經新舊文化交替的劇烈變動。

Chinese culture is built on the multi-ethnic society .The Chinese history is the reflection of Chinese culture. This course is a series of lectures on Chinese history with the length of 5 thousand years, divided into four periods.
1.Classic Period, lecturing on the original model of Chinese culture, including the forming of “the ancient nation”, the origin of Chinese culture, and the rise of the imperial dynasties, 2.Medieval Age, lecturing on multiple contour of Chinese culture, 3. Pre-modern Age, lecturing on the building of new cultural tradition, 4.Modern Age, lecturing on the impact western civilization and the turning point traditional culture.
