本課程之目的在使學生了解產業界在新產品研發的實務工作上,必須整合行銷、設計研發,與製造等部門之運作模式;以及新產品研各階段相關之專業知識和相關之概念等。

Syllabus <Objectives>
The focus of this course is the concepts, ways of integration of the marketing, design, and manufacturing functions of firms in creating a new product, and knowledge required in each steps along the process of product development.

<Syllabus>
The focus of this course is integration of the marketing, design, and manufacturing functions of the firm in creating a new product. The course is intended to provide student with awareness of the role of multiple functions in creating a new product (e.g. marketing, finance, industrial design, engineering, production). For the manufacturing functions, it emphases four modern manufacturing areas: manufacturing processes, equipment/control. systems, and design for manufacturing, and it exposes you to integration of engineering and management disciplines for determining manufacturing rate, cost, quality and flexibility. Topics include process physics, equipment design and automation/control, quality, design for manufacturing, industrial management, and systems design and operation.
