Objectives | This course is designed to introduce undergraduate students to the research methods in the context of mass communication. The focus in this class is on basic issues and strategies in designing and conducting research. Specifically, the course intends to help students acquire in-depth knowledge of developing the communication research problems, the ability to access communication research studies, and the ability to independently conduct communication research. |

| 教學內容 | 本課程包括四大單元：（一〉事件觀察的訓練；〈二〉多種研究方法介紹；〈三〉SPSS介紹與實作練習；（四〉研究結果的呈現。在第一單元中，將為同學介紹科學研究的基本概念，討論如何觀察社會中的事件，如何問出好問題、及著手設計一項研究；同時也將介紹研究的信度、效度與抽樣等問題；而在第二單元中，則將介紹多種研究方法（包括調查法、內容分析、實驗法、訪談、參與觀察、文本分析等）；第三單元則將介紹SPSS統計軟體，並讓同學進行實作練習；第四單元則著重於撰寫研究報告的方法與研究反思。 | Syllabus | 第1週 課程介紹：人類探索與科學 2-3週 如何問問題及設計研究？ 第4週 信度、效度與抽樣問題 第5週 調查法 第6週 問卷設計 第7週 內容分析法 第8週 實驗法 第9週 期中考 10-11週 SPSS應用與練習 第12週 訪談法 第13週 俗民方法學研究 第14週 文本分析 第15週 如何撰寫研究報告 第16週 期末作業分享與討論 |
