文學批評在於讓同學了解不同的文學理念，諸如新批評、結構主義、後結構主義、解構主義、女性主義、後殖民論述、等等。知名批評家福科、巴克丁、德利達、芭芭也在探討範圍之內。 |
Objectives |
The course is to let students have a basic understanding of different fields of literary criticism, ranging from New Criticism, Structuralism, Post-structuralism, Deconstruction, Feminism, Post-colonialism, and so on. Some famous critics such as Foucault, Bakhtin, Derrida, Homi BhaBha will be discussed. |

Syllabus |
It's the comparison between American youth and Taiwanese youth. In this course we will use ideas of literary and film criticism to understand the lives of American youth as depicted in four movies. The four movies will trace the changes in American youth culture from the 1960s to today. |
