| 課程目標 |
本課程為語音學之基礎課程。以英語為基礎介紹發音之基礎原理與語音之描述方法，相關的音韻規律也將納入介紹。最後，並將列舉英語發音與英文拼寫之對應。修畢本課程之學生，己具備英語發音原理與原則與音節與拼寫等相關知識與技能，並有能力應用學所於其他領域，如矯正自身發音與發音診斷與教學等。 |
Objectives |
This is a basic phonetic course focusing on the articulatory aspect of the English language. Topics to be covered include mechanism of articulation, consonants, vowels, stress, intonation (cf. tone), syllable structure and phonological processes. Diacritics and orthography will also be covered. Students will be able to apply the knowledge acquired for various purposes such as improving their own pronunciation, and language instruction. |

Syllabus |
This is a basic phonetic course focusing on
the articulatory aspect of the English language.
Topics to be covered include mechanism of articulation, consonants, vowels, stress, intonation (cf. tone), syllable structure and phonological processes. Diacritics employed for a narrow transcription will be introducted. The correspondences between English sounds and spelling(orthography) will be covered as a final topic. |
