Objectives |
The purpose of this course is to provide the student the basic knowledge of the organic reaction mechanisms, which includes: 1)nucleophilic reactions; 2) elimination reactions; 3) polar rearrangements; 4) cyclization reactions; 5) orbital symmetry. |

To discuss the basic terminology, types of chemical transformations and their reaction mechanisms. These include a] polare reactions under basic and acidic conditions, pericyclic reactions, free radical reactions and transitional metal-catalyzed and -mediated reactions. The ultimate goal is to teach student how to write a reasonalbe reaction mechanism for any chemical transformation |
