課程目標 此課程與大多數的學期選修課一樣,涵蓋不同科系的學生,其彼此的英文程度可能有相當大的差異,因此課程設計上須相當謹慎。在教學方法上,以主題式的教學應是最適合學生的,因此課堂上會介紹實用且有趣的主題。此課程重視的是教學的內容而非所教內容的多寡。學生們在第一學期應熟知日常生活會話之運用及其功能,如此才能勝任第二學期的課程、或是更進階之課程。除了使用教科書之外,老師應該推薦工具書讓學生參考用。如此一來,不僅能使老師的教學更實用,學生亦能滿足其需求。 Objectives Like most semester-based selective courses, this class consists of students from different departments and their proficiency levels of English can vary a great deal, hence a careful design of syllabus is essential. In accordance to teaching methods, students are best taught task-based. Useful and interesting tasks should be introduced here; note that it is quality but not quantity that is of the concern for this class. It is important for students to familiarise with the everyday use of spoken & functional English in the first semester which will then prepare them better to the second semester or even other advanced classes. Moreover, rather than the use of textbooks, teachers should recommend tool books for reference purpose only. By doing so, not only that it is practical for teachers to instruct lessons but students are also tailored towards their needs.

教學內容 1.培養四種聽力技巧:專注性、密集性、選擇性、互動性。
2.口語著重發音技巧的練習,包括音調、重音、節奏、語調及正確的發音方法。及應用在單字、片語、句子、對話。
3.訓練學生對英語聽之理解力,如成語、俚語或文化性強調之訊息。
4.不斷的練習進而矯正發音 並協助單字記憶 ,其次,藉由語調練習與不同的情境演練,學會日常生活英語,並改善口語流利度。

5.改善學生說的流利性及文法的精確度。

6.培養學生對異種文化的認知尊重及欣賞的美德。

Week 1
Syllabus 1 Concentration, intensification, selectivity, and interactivity four listening skills will be developed through out the course.
2 Oral skills will focus on drills of pronunciation which includes pitch, press, rhythm, intonation and accurate pronouncing methods. They may be applied on vocabulary, idioms, sentences and conversations.
3 To train learners English listening comprehension, such like phrases, slang and cultural awareness.
4 Intensive exercises improve pronunciation correctness and also increase vocabulary amount.
5 Students’ English fluency and grammar accuracy will be empowered.
6 To develop students awareness, respect and appreciation towards different cultures.
