課程目標 此課程為應屆畢業生必修之課程。學生可選擇影視創作、論文寫作或其他形式作品作為畢業專題之內容,專題完成後需公開發表成果。 Objectives This course is designed for senior students. Students need to complete a finished work either on a research paper or visual presentation for their special study. It is required to present their final finished work in public.

教學內容 <課程簡介>:
一. 教學目標:
戲劇是一種綜合性的藝術, 它需要文學. 美術. 音樂. 舞蹈等各方面學術的密切配合, 因此戲劇比任何其它藝術形式更能反映時代的需求及心聲, 也更能記載每個社會的風貌。 一個正式性的公演是戲劇整體表現的最好方式, 藉由全班同學的齊心協力共同努力分工合作, 從劇本撿選. 改編. 演員甄選及正式排練再加上服裝.道具. 音樂等的設計與製作, 不但能刺激同學們的思考, 也可啟發同學對於戲劇. 設計和表演的創造能力。 同時透過一場好的戲劇公演促進學生對人生. 社會所特有的人生觀及時代風貌有更深一層的體會。 除了介紹部分的戲劇原理. 特性. 感染力外並描述世界各主要劇場的演進情形外, 同時說明西方戲劇的精采內容如宮廷禮儀, 反映現實世界, 注重表現個人心靈, 且經由公演來獲得對四年所學的再創造和創新靈感。 更希望藉由畢業公演專題讓同學運用四年所學作一完整性. 多項性. 且應用性的綜合呈現。
二. 課程概要:
本課程將分為幾個階段實際就正式演出提供學術與技術雙面向的準備。 十七周的課程將分為六個部分進行, 一. 前置作業階段, 二. 分組討論及整合藝術體系階段, 三. 正式排練及分組設計執行製作階段, 四. 修正各組設計系統偏差及討論階段, 五. 進劇場及技術排練彩排階段。 六. 畢業公演正式呈現階段。 試圖將學術與技術並用, 從理論中找尋出真實的呈現自我。
三. 課程安排重點:
課程將著重於激發學生本身的創造力及思考力, 並結合對各類型藝術專才的同學共同發揮所長, 分工合作一起完成屬於自己的畢業公演。 本次公演將首度將學生作品推廣致國際性的專業舞台, 如台中市中山堂, 文化中心, 港區藝文中心公演, 讓原本只在校園呈現的模式更專業化且更俱開拓性, 希望將應用外語系的演出不單單讓校內的師生欣賞, 更能與台中縣市各藝文團體及社會大眾一起共襄盛舉。
四. 課程大綱與進度:
一. 前置作業
第一週: 提交正式劇本及暑假其間所有工作進度報告 
第二週: 劇本分析與演員自傳建立      
第三週: 導演及各設計組員確定呈現體系
第四週: 語系上主任及老師研討修正劇本結構及設計理念
二. 分組討論及整合藝術體系階段
 
第五週: 演員組分組練習
第六週: 舞台組設計稿印製及材料採買 
第七週: 服裝組製作演員量身表及布料選購 
第八週: 導演與舞台監督整合及開會
三. 正式排練及分組設計執行製作階段

第十週: 舞台服裝音樂執行製作及開始設計校外演出事宜

Syllabus 1. Goal of Teaching:
Drama which is one synthetic art requires a close integration of literature, fine arts, music and dance. Therefore, not only can drama further reflect the era requirement and voice more than other artistic forms can achieve but also give an account of the social scenes in each aspect. One final public performance is the best way of the ensemble performance for the drama, with its preparation ranging from a selection of scenario, adaptation, selection of actors and full-dress rehearsal along with the design and production of costumes, props and music not only helping boost students’ thinking but also inspire their creativity on drama, design and performance through the whole class’s concerted efforts. One good public performance, meanwhile, can enhance students an in-depth understanding of their philosophy of life and epoch style and features toward life and society as well. Besides giving an introduction of part of dramatic theories, characteristics and sense of influence, my graduation project would focus on giving an in-depth description about the evolution for each major auditorium in the world and giving an account of the highlight of the western drama such as court etiquette, a reflection of the realistic world and an emphasis on individual spirit, in hope of obtaining the creative and innovative inspirations for my four-year study through the public performance. Furthermore, I hope to lead students to applying their learning and experience to conducting one integral, diversified and applicable presentation through the independent study featuring the public performance of graduation.

2. Synopsis of Curriculum
This curriculum is divided into several stages to offer academic and technical preparations in the aspect of final performance, while the seventeen-week curriculum will be classified into six parts, (1) the stage of lead preparations, (2) stage of group discussion and integrated art system, (3) stage of full-dress rehearsal and group design, execution and production, (4) stage of revision of each group design system deviation and discussion, (5) stage of get-in and technical rehearsal, and (6) stage of the final presentation during the public performance of graduation. I would make an attempt to apply both learning and techniques in searching for the real self-presentation from theories.

3. Center of Curriculum arrangement
The curriculum will be focused on inspiring students’ creativity and thinking as well as gathering students of various artistic specialties in bringing their special skills into full play and working in concerted efforts to achieve their own public performance of graduation. This public performance aims to promoting students’ works to international stages such as Taichung Zhongshan Hall, Taichung Cultural Center and Taichung Seaport Art Center to make the models formerly presented only in campus more professional and expanded, in hope of not only enabling both teachers and students on campus to enjoy the performance by students of Applied Foreign Languages Department but also cooperate with all artistic groups and the public in Taichung area for this worthy project.

4. Curriculum Outline and Schedule
(1) Lead Preparations

Week 1 : Presentation of the final scenario and all working schedule reports during the summer vacation

Week 2 : Analysis of the scenario and an establishment of actor’s autobiography

Week 3 : A confirmation of the presented system by director and each design team members

Week 4 : Chairman and teacher’s discussion on the revision of scenario structure and design concept

(2) Stage of Group Discussion and Integration of Artistic System

Week 5 : Actors’ group practice

Week 6 : Print of design script by Stage Group and purchase of materials

Week 7 : Table of Actor’s Measurement and selection of fabric by Costume Group

Week 8 : Integration of director and stage supervisor as well as the conference
