| 課程目標 | 本課程將使學生對語言與文化間之關係有更深層的認知。學生將習得語言如何在思想行動上影響文化及次文化。課程將著重於語言、少數民族文化、階級文化、性別文化及本國文化。 | Objectives | This courses promises to acquaint students with the close link between language and culture. Students will learn how language shapes their own cultural and sub-cultural patterns of thought and action. Attention will be given to language and ethnic culture, class culture, gender culture and national culture. |

| 成績評量方式 | Each test counts for 25% of the grade. If students cannot be present for a test, they must notify the instructor or the main office in advance. If this is not possible, the instructor must be notified as soon as possible and official notice for absence supplied. | 教學內容 | This course is divided into four parts. Each part considers a main theme. Each section begins with a film, the script of which will provide the primary text for that section. at the end of sections one and three students will be given a twenty question test.
