本課程旨於探討語言測驗之特性與提供學生開發與使用語言測驗之概念。學生將於此課程中認識了解各種語言技能測驗之特質及其應用,並學習開發較具效度、信度且適用於課堂教學之語言試題。 |
Objectives |
The course aims to explore unique characteristics of language tests and to provide students with conceptual foundations in developing and using language tests. In this course, students are expected to practice different processes of constructing valid, practical, and reliable language tests, to investigate limitations and advantages of various formats available for testing different language skills, and eventually to construct valid and reliable test items for use in the language classrooms. |

The features for this course focus on the following: 1. clearly framed fundamental principles for evaluating and designing assessment procedures of all kinds 2. focus on the most common pedagogical challenge: classroom-based assessment 3 thorough discussion of large-scale standardized tests: their purpose, design, validity and utility 4. a comprehensive presentation of alternatives in assessment, namely, portfolios, journals, and self- and peer-assessment. |
