社會語言學的主要教學目標為介紹該領域重要的概念問題,並探討人們為什麼在不同的社會環境中使用不同的語法及社會功能來表達他們不同的社會地位。語言及其年齡和性別不可分開的關係也是另一個教學重點。 在課程結束後,學生應該: 1.有社會語言學基本概念的了解 2.能探討並批判社會語言的問題 3.了解語言及語言學習和整個社會背景的關係 |
Objectives |
This course aims to provide an introduction to concepts and issues in the field of sociolinguistics, and to examine why people perform differently under different social contexts, using different social functions to convey different social meanings. The relationship between language and age and language and gender is another major focus of the course, and that linguistic responses depend heavily on attitudes.
By the end of the course students should: -have gained an understanding of basic sociolinguistic concepts, -be able to explore and critically evaluate sociolinguistic issues be aware of the connections between language and language learning, and the broader socio-political context. |

教學內容 |
1. To introduce students to concepts and issues in sociolinguistics. 2. To explore and critically evaluate sociolinguistics issues. 3. To be aware of the connections between language and language learning, classroom life and the broader socio-political context.
The class will be conducted mainly in English, with key concepts explained in Chinese. Students should aim to ask questions and discuss issues in English. |
