介紹科技發展對人類生活的影響,首先說明物質變化的物理與化學基本觀念,再逐步引述化學工業,材料工業,環境科學,地球科學,生命科學的進步,對人類生活的衝擊與生活方式的改變。 |
Objectives |
Impacts of scientific and technological developments on human life will be discussed. Basic physical and chemical concepts which related to the change of matters will be introduced first. Changing of human life due to progresses of chemical industry, materials industry, environmental science, earth science, and life science will be presented. |

本課程將以深入淺出的方式介紹生物科技(例如轉基因作物、疫苗、PCR技術與生物晶片等)在農業上、醫學上以及生態環境上所造成的影響與衝擊，並概述其它不同科技領域的重要成果(例如奈米科技等)，培養同學對新興科技的基本認知，並提高學生在科技生活上的素養。 |
Syllabus |
Students are introduced to the study of scientific and technological developments, especially biotechnology and nanotechnology, in human life. They should be able to develop their concepts and to understand the impacts brought by the science and technology on agriculture, medicine and environment. |
