生長在台灣的人，應該知道台灣的歷史，前瞻台灣未來的發展必須從台灣的過去中尋找蜘絲馬跡，從豐厚的文化內涵中凝聚廿一世紀台灣人的共識。本課程目的旨在讓學生透過台灣史的教學，了解自己生長土地的民情風俗和宗教文化，藉此共同的歷史記憶，達到愛護鄉土和惜環境的情操。 |
Objectives |
In recent years Taiwan has experienced a powerful burgeoning of native consciousness. As the people turn toward their roots with newfound nostalgia, study on Tawian’s history, and area of ever-increasing activity, has at last come into vogue. |

讓學生了解台灣整體歷史的初步面像，透過探究台灣歷史中幾個較特殊的歷史現象，讓學生從認識本土歷史出發，進而了解本土文化的多元性及融合性，使學生對於本土歷史研究產生興趣。 |
