Objectives |
Since this class is designed especially for students who major in applied foreign languages, the final objective of this course is for each student to achieve a satisfactory score on TOIEC Listening Comprehension, or to pass the GEPT high-intermediate level listening comprehension test. Hence, the short-term goals of this course are to discover strategies for listening to extended conversations in a formal or an informal context including radio programs and lectures by repeatedly using the class cd and a student cd for home study. Students are also expected to get familiar to some sound changes, Phonological rules, and to be able to understand some most common words and expressions in American English. |

This course is designed for intermediate-advanced students who have taken listening comprehension courses previously. Therefore, the course will provide the students with a variety of listening texts (such as interviews, lectures, commercials, news broadcasts, practice of tests, etc.) for students to review their listening skills. |
