Objectives |
This course is aimed at introducing to students basic translation theories and techniques, and through repeated practices on different topics, helping students possess the competence to translate. Topics to be covered include of: General texts; Political texts; Economic texts; Technical texts and etc. Therefore students are encouraged to read newspapers and magazines and keep abreast of important events. |

Students will be categorized into three groups to translate three basic novels as a way to intensify their translation ability, to enlarge their vocabulary, and to train their familiarity with both English and Chinese syntax and formation of words. |
