Objectives |
First, the students are to study western drama and its historical background and development in western literature. Second, they must know various types of western drama and their forms, skills, and performances. And finally, they are to learn how to discuss and analyze western plays. |
教材 |
1. Work on Ibsen, Becket, Shaw, Shakespeare...etc. will be covered. Please go to Caves bookshop for reference. 2. Reference material relevant to the course are expected to be researched by students. 3. Supplementary copies are to be distributed in each section. |

Syllabus |
This is an extremely interesting class for students wishing to exploit their potential in creativity & their capacity to work alone/in groups. Consequetnly, this is an elective course in the Department of Foreign Languages which is not only at an advanced level but is also very demanding. A vast amount of western literature and plays will be studied. Both theory (interpretation/analysis of the play...etc.) & practice (actual acting & stage performance) are to be delivered and rendered. The pre-requisite of the course: participants who are at least moderately competent in understanding & communicating in English in order to participate in the class. Please note that participants can only enjoy the course the most with 100% devotion as well as passion to plays and dramas. |
