課程目標 此課程的目的主要在於幫助學生使用不同的策略,來發展基本的英語聽講能力。學生需要去做預測、推論、寫大綱、做筆記,並由語音的線索中找出重要的訊息。學生將運用這些策略來參與各種聽講練習與討論。 Objectives This course is designed to develop students" general listening comprehension and oral skills through a variety of strategies. Students will be asked to make predictions, draw inferences, outline, take notes, and listen for phonological clues that signal important information. Students will apply these strategies to a great variety of recorded English and discussions.

教學內容 The goal of the course is to offer students more learner-centered activities, academic and language learning strategies, CNN videos, and a Web site that will provide students more effectively with the tools they need to be successful and independent learners.

C: Test-taking tips offers students practical steps for improving their test results.

Week 1 & 2: Introduction of the syllabus, unit #1 emphasizing the sound refines listening, speaking, and pronunciation skills.

Week 3 & 4: Engaging listening selections provide authentic news broadcasts, interviews, conversations, debates, and stories.
Quiz.

Week 5 & 6: CNN videos clips provide authentic input and further develop listening and speaking skills.
Quiz.

Week 7 & 8: Tapestry Threads provides students with interesting facts and quotes that jumpstart classroom discussions.

Week 9 & 10: Mid-term test;
