現代印刷科技發?，圖書的生產數量驚人，處處有書，人人看書、讀書，相信對書不會陌生。可是書籍不是一開始便有今天的樣貌，它像其它的創造發明一樣，有著一段長期演進的歷史；它的傳統美成為中國象徵，更充滿中國藝術鑒賞價值。這漫長而精采的書本歷史故事是本課程的探討重點。
探討中包含著中國文化、政治、地域、科學及人文氣質等，並著重古籍美感的藝術鑒賞和書籍版面視覺上呈現的專業範疇解說，進一步指導古籍產生之相關技術，學生可從文獻古法的復原中體驗中國工藝之美，從中引導欣賞傳統與創作開發能力。也是學生培養中國設計文化質性研究方法之一。 |
Objectives |
The technology advance of modern printing is fast moving. The amount of books produced every year is astonishing. You can find books everywhere and everybody reads books. Book is not a stranger to us. However, books don’t look like the way it is at the very beginning, it has gone through long years of development just like any innovation has. The traditional beauty of books has become a Chinese symbol, and is worth of recognition. The long story of ancient books is the essence of this course.
Topics covered in this course include Chinese culture, politics, regions, science and humanity, with focus on the beauty of books’ visual art and explanation of specialty, further introduce the technology of ancient book’s production. Students will experience the beauty of Chinese workmanship through real practice, and are encourage to admire the tradition and to inspire their creativity. |
