隧道之分析方法、土質及岩石隧道設計、工址調查及測試、隧道施工方法、安全計測及監控，以及台灣特有地質，台灣重要隧道工程所遭遇之困難探討。 |
Objectives |
This course will cover methods of analyses for tunnels, design and constructions of tunnels in soft ground and rock conditions, site investigation and in situ tests, methods of construction of tunnels, instrumentation and in situ monitoring, case studies of tunnels in Taiwan. |

每週授課三小時，閱讀指定教材及繳交及上台報告。 |
Teaching Materials |
There are 3 class hours per week. Homework or reading assignments will be assigned. Students are required to presetn their final report at the end of the semester. |

This course will cover the design and analyses of tunnels in soils and rocks and related subjects of tunneling, including site investigation, in situ tests, construction methods, monitoring, failure mechanisms, failure cases, design at portals, and difficulties for tunneling in Taiwan. |
