一.本課程包含描述性統計與推論性統計方法之介紹。內容強調統計方法在社會工作領域的應用，並且全程配合SPSS教學，以增加學員實際練習經驗。
二.本課程重點為各種推論性統計方法，包括直線迴歸，變異數分析，以及無母數統計等。 |
Objectives |
1.The contents of this course include descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. The application of statistics in social work is emphasized with SPSS tutorial.
2.This course introduces the techniques of inferential statistics including ANOVA, regression and nonparametric tests. |

本課程是專為社會工作學系學生所設計的社會統計基礎課程，學生將可學習到有關描述性與推論統計的基本概念，例如假設形成、抽樣、以及資料分析等，主要的內容包括：‧描述統計：次數分配、圖表呈現、集中以及離散量數的測量。‧基本的機率概念。‧推論統計：相關係數、卡方檢定、變異數分析等。‧SPSS統計軟體的練習與運用。 |
Syllabus |
The goal of the course is to provide a basic foundation in social science statistics and has been designed for undergraduates who major in social work. Students are introduced to the concepts and procedures that are fundamental to both descriptive and inferential statistics. The course addresses key research concepts and procedures such as hypothesis formulation, measurement, sampling, and especially in date analysis. The main contents include:‧Descriptive statistics: frequency distribution, graphic presentation, measure of central tendency and dispersion.‧Basic probability concepts.‧Inferential statistics: correlations coefficients, chi-square test, ANOVA etc.‧Practicing and using the statistical software - SPSS |
