透過本課程，讓學生瞭解環境複雜問題的科學基礎與所面對的困難之妥協問題，廣泛基礎的環境科學課程可教導不同領域的學生認識科學與社會議題的極佳方法，引導學生學習如何收集和分析有用的資訊，及如何嚴謹思考複雜的議題，促使學生在環境科學基本原理上建立堅強的基礎，培養對環境領域研究之興趣。 |
Objectives |
The objective of this course is to provide the students to understand the fundamental issues in environmental science. The course addresses what the environmental problems are, how these problems impact the environment, and the means society has chosen to deal with these problems. The topics include the basic concept of environmental science, air pollution, the climate issue and the dissipation of air pollutant, air pollution control, water pollution, growth mathematics, solid waste, hazard waste and radiation, risk analysis, soil and groundwater pollution and control, noise pollution and control, and environmental impact assessment. |

利用中文教材為基礎，佐以英文翻譯參考書籍，以課堂討論環境科學概論，並讓學生瞭解環境基礎科學，培養對此領域之興趣。 |
Teaching Materials |
A Chinese textbook will be used with the other textbook as reference. Classroom teaching and discussion will be conducted in the course in order to bring the students understand the concept of environmental science. |
