課程目標 隨著科技的發展，人類的生活形態不斷地轉變。本課程將介紹物理、化學與生物等科技之基本觀念、在人類文明中所扮演之角色以及在自然生態、環境、社會、健康…等層面所造成之影響與衝擊，期待同學能以理性與人性為出發點，培養出一個科學的人生觀。 Objectives Students are introduced to the study of scientific and technological developments in human life. They should develop their understanding of construction, manufacturing, energy/transportation and information/communication as well as biotechnology and nanotechnology. Students should be able to comprehend physical, chemical and biological concepts and to understand the impacts brought by the science and technology on environment and human society.
教材 上課口頭講解 錄影帶播放及講解 電腦資訊播放 學生口試報告 Teaching Materials chalk and blackboard teaching, video tape play and explaination, internet information introduction, oral report by student.
成績評量方式 期中考與期末考各一次 每次之成績占40% 上課出勤成績占20% Grading Mid-term and final examination are individually counting for 40% of the final score. Attendance record counts for 20% of the final score.

教學內容 將生活中的食,衣,住,行,環境,醫藥,生物技術,地球,宇宙等各方面之科學領域,以較為淺顯,生活化的形式表達給非理工學院的學生修習. 使學生逐漸了解在日常生活中的化學,物理,醫學,機械等各項科學原理,進而使學生能對科學產生興趣,並將科學常識應用在日常生活當中. Syllabus This calss introduces science and technology about food, cloth, house, transportation, environment, medicine, biotechnology, earth and universe in the daily life. It is designed for the students with major in social science, not in natural science. The students will learn how to apply science and technology in their daily lives.
