隨著科技的發展，人類的生活形態不斷地轉變。本課程將介紹物理、化學與生物等科技之基本觀念、在人類文明中所扮演之角色以及在自然生態、環境、社會、健康…等層面所造成之影響與衝擊，期待同學能以理性與人性為出發點，培養出一個科學的人生觀。 |
Objectives |
Students are introduced to the study of scientific and technological developments in human life. They should develop their understanding of construction, manufacturing, energy/transportation and information/communication as well as biotechnology and nanotechnology. Students should be able to comprehend physical, chemical and biological concepts and to understand the impacts brought by the science and technology on environment and human society. |

提昇學生對現代科技的興趣，幫助學生解讀科技訊息，並學習判斷各類科技訊息與現代生活之間的相關性，瞭解現代科技對日常生活的影響。教學內容包括空氣品質和大氣、全球溫暖化、環境荷爾蒙、重金屬污染、藥物濫用、生物科技、複製技術、奈米科技等等議題。 |
Syllabus |
Increasing students' interest about modern technology, helping students' understand the technological messages, and learning to specify the relationship between all kinds technological messages and modern life, understanding how influential that modern technology affects our daily life.
The teaching content included the discussion-issues such as, air qulity and the atmosphere, global warming , environmental hormone, heavy mental pollution, medicine abuse, biotechnology, cloning technology, nanotechnology and so on. |
