課程目標 本課為現代語言學的導論課程。旨在使學生了解並運用現代語言學的理論與研究方法。以及研究成果之各種運用。 Objectives The purpose of this introductory course is to provide students with a basic understanding of human language: what it is, how it works, and how it can be explored as a profession or as an outside interest. It introduces principles and methods professional linguists employ in exploring human language. It also covers how the research results can be applied to other areas such as L1 and L2 acquisition, natural language processing, language and gender, and language and cultural studies, etc.
教材 講授。 Teaching Materials Lecture。
成績評量方式 出席：20%、期中考：40%、期末考：40%。 Grading Presence：20%、Midterm：40%、Final：40%。

教學內容 這門課主要介紹學生基本語言學概念。本課程將涵蓋語音、句法、音韻、語意、語形、語言習得、頭腦與語言、語言與社會、語言的變化、及一些相關之內容。 Syllabus This course aims to introduce students the basic linguistic knowledge that is seen today an important element a student of English should know。This course will include phonetics、syntax、phonology、semantics、morphology、language acquisition、language and brain、language and society， ect。
